Similar but not exactly as European sunscreens.
Has some European sunscreen ingredients mainly tinosorb m & s which are excellent for UVA protection ( the bad rays that cause photo aging , freckles and hyperpigmentation aka “sun spots”) and are not carried in any American or Canadian made sunscreens.
pros: no white cast although it does go on white it fades after it absorbs. It’s very moisturzing if you have dry skin .
Cons: leaves you looking like a grease ball and it doesn’t go away especially if you use the dermatologist recommended amount of 1/4 teaspoon. Make up slides right off even melted my mascara I currently look like a raccoon. It might be ok if you apply a mattyfying powder on top but I haven’t tried it.

The Absolute Best Sunscreen You Can Buy in Canada
Bought two days ago after discovering that some companies here in Canada do in fact use Tinosorbs in their formulations. This has a very high concentration (WHICH THEY DISCLOSE) of Tinosorb S and M, on top of a higher than normal Avobenzone (3% instead of 5%). The Tinosorbs help stabilize the Avobenzone so its less photostable. These three ingredients are the backbone of UVA protection (what causes wrinkles). The result --> an EXTREMELY powerful UVA sunscreen (PPD 42!!!). Nothing else in Canada compares even a little to this. If you care about how your skin will like in 5/10 years, wear this.
HOWEVER, if you have more than olive colored skin, the Tinosorb M will leave a slight white cast (if you use the appropriate 1/4 teaspoon on your face). So, keep that in mind. Otherwise, not greasy at all and incredibly pleasant on the skin. Will be repurchasing for a long time to come.

Makes my skin feel so soft
I bought this first in France and was desperate to find it when I returned home as I couldn't believe how it felt on my skin while still protecting me so well from the very intense sun we were getting. Also a great product to use under your makeup as it's not thick or sticky.

Almost perfect, but white cast on medium skintone
I researched a lot for a sunscreen with tinosorb or mexoryl, and high UVA protection as well as high spf (UVB protection) in Canada. This is one of the few which has a high ppd rating/ high UVA protection, and stable uv filters. BUT...
But with use of recommended amount, i.e. quarter of a teaspoon, it has an obvious white cast on my medium dark skintone. I’m a Mac NC35, fenty 240, Giorgio Armani luminous silk 6.5, mufe 365Y. It is greasy on my very oily skin, but doesn’t bother me too much.
It would have been the absolute perfect sunscreen if it didn’t have a white cast. I have been layering it on with other sunscreen to minimize the white cast.
P.s I’m not sure if it is the Canadian version of the bioderm Photoderm Max spf 50+, since the Canadian bottle doesn’t say the word max, but I get redirected to this version when I go to the bioderm Canada site. v

Some European ingredients.
Bought this since it contains tinosorb m and s which American and Canadian sunscreens don’t carry but are better at uva and uvb protection according to my research. I only have used it two times but so far it hasn’t caused any burning sensation. It also doesn’t leave a white cast . I’ll keep using it an update my review.

Great for travel
Perfect size for travelling, can go in your carry on because it's exactly 100mL. Brought it to the caribbean for my face and used other sunscreen on my body. Didn't burn, moisturized and lasted. When my friends started peeling, I was still glowing. Recommend it for guys travelling to beach destinations.

Excellent Non Greacy SUN PROTECTION
I was using another brand for years. At the time I went to renew that product, it happened the pharmacy didn't have it on the shelves. I opted for BIODERMA Photoderm SPF 50+ and I'm glad I did. It protects my skin from the sun, it is non oily and moisturises well.
