Silky smoothI really enjoy using this lip oil for my regular lip product. I love the applicator tip because it is smaller than the average tip. Going on it was silky and smooth and as it fades away during the day it never gets sticky or leaves that gross white dead skin behind. It only leaves the lips softer and moisturized. I want to mention that the lip oil was not sufficient when I had really chapped lips a few weeks ago, I had to use something thicker that would cake on my lips more. But for everyday, this is my new favorite. Oh yeah, I really like doing a lip stain that lasts for a few days and then using the lip oil for moisture. Great Hydration but Awful TasteI use many different lip treatments while wearing my CPAP mask and was excited to see an inexpensive lip oil that I could apply before bed. Unfortunately, this treatment has an absolutely awful taste that automatically seeps into the mouth upon application. I wish the oil had an almond flavor, rather than the intensely bitter chemical taste. Using this treatment made me wonder how such a flavor could go unnoticed by quality testing panels and whether I could have received a bad batch. Regardless, I will continue using the Burt's Bees Overnight Intensive Lip Treatment instead (which has a delightfully light and minty flavor).

Sweet Almond Lip OilThis hydrating lip oil was easy to apply and I greatly appreciated the tube package (way more hygienic than twist jars). You only need to smooth a little bit onto your lips. I squeezed out a small dot onto my finger and applied. The scent is not overpowering, but a pleasnt and light sweet almond. The lip oil feels very emollient on the lips and not too thick or "oily" despite its name. I will keep this in my makeup bag especially during winter when my lips tend to need more TLC. Not a Fan FavoriteUsually I am in love with anything Burt’s Bees, and was super excited to try this lip oil once I got home. I was expecting a lovely, nourishing lip oil, however, I experienced dried, uncomfortably chapped lips. I enjoy the scent of the oil, but as far as my lips go, it actually took a long time and some balm for my lips to go back to normal. The skin on my lips would dry and flake in large chunks. I really wanted to like this product, and even continued to wear it for about 2 weeks to see if it was a temporary thing like when I change face wash. But unfortunately, I was constantly left with chappy, but shiny, lips.

Cracked lipsI am a collector of chapsticks. I have one in every jacket, purse, desk, car, you name it. My lips crack at the first sign of cold temps here in Colorado. So finding a lip moisturizer that works for me is imperative. I decided to give the lip oil a shot as I usually love Burt bees products.
I am on day 3 of using this product (and only this product) and have gotten significantly worse cracked lips that have become painful. the oil feels great on, and I don’t mind the taste as described in other reviews. The almond oil is subtle and not overbearing at all. But it seems I need to reapply every hour as my lips dry out quickly. I was hoping for the 8 hour effect as described.
In any event. If you’re after the glossy-not sticky- temporary effect this is great. But not for the long term moisture unfortunately.

Disappointed Long-Time Customer:(As a I am a big fan of Burts Bees lip care products, I was extremely excited to try out this product. I am a lover of lip oils, as they are extremely moisturizing and they double as a nonsticky lipgloss that fades throughout the day. While this product does technically "soften" your lips, it tastes absolutely horrible, almost like someone that has never tasted an almond tried to make one out of chemicals? Not to mention the fact that you have to reapply CONSTANTLY, which is not an issue with other lip oils I have used before. I am very upset about the flavor and effectiveness of this product. Still tempted to try the other flavor they offer to see if it works any better!!

I love Burt's Bees lip products, but not this one!Let me be the first to say that I only use Burt's Bees when it comes to lip care products! My personal favorites include the Vanilla Bean, Pumpkin Spice, and Chai Tea Moisturizing Lip Balms (you can see I'm into the seasonal scents).
I tried this new Lip Oil but didn't make it more than one minute without washing it off. If you like almond oil - the taste of it - then this is probably for you. For me, it was far too strong, like I was munching on a raw nut, but not in an enjoyable way. It seemed bitter and was quite distasteful. I washed it off and proceed to put on my usual Chai Tea lip balm.
I"m a huge fan of Burt's Bees, but this product just wasn't for me. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Allergy gal from
Does what it saysJust got Sweet Almond Lip Oil today, have been using Burt's lip gloss for years all day and to bed , have a tubes in every room, and at work. I have said many times if I am on a deserted island, I want water, a book, and Burt's Bees lip gloss.. now oil too...My friends were thrilled when I recommended it because their husbands liked that it was not sticky or perfumy when they kissed them...I have had over 100 allergic reactions to almost everything and panicked when I read the reviews. I have it on, no funny taste, feels amazing, no adverse reaction at all. I will continue to use Burts Bees, love it.
