Rated 3 out of 5 by ames91 from Difficult Formula, Great Color Ballet Slippers was one of the first Essie polishes I ever bought, and I bought it because of the amazing reviews I had seen for it. To be completely honest, the formula is VERY difficult to work with. It's a lovely sheer color, but you have to put 3 coats to make the streakiness not visible, and by that point, it is opaque. That being said, once you are used to the formula, it is far easier to work with. All of this said, once it is on the nails and opaque, the color is AMAZING! I have 100+ nail polishes, and yet this is my husband's absolute favorite nail polish on me. It makes my nails look clean and chic; it is so feminine, yet professional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kessie from A must have classic! I bought this polish because of all the hype around it and when I heard the queen even loves it that was my selling point! This polish is such a classic and perfect for anyone anytime! Whether it be work or school or your wedding it's just amazing! The best way I could describe this color is a ballerina pink (almost like a whitish pink)! It's truly amazing and a staple in any Essie or nail polish collection! If you are looking into buying your first Essie, Ballet Slippers is the one! I must warn you though it is VERY sheer so you need at least 3 coats, but it's definitely worth it because after the three coats it's perfect and with no nail lines!

Rated 3 out of 5 by flowers18 from Decent The color is extremely cute and simple. I love wearing it because of the color. However, the formula is extremely runny - funnier than typical nail polish. It makes it difficult to maneuver and to have it actually stay on the nail instead of running off the nail. it also takes FOREVER to dry. Mine are still drying and I've painted them a good 45 minutes ago. I don't think polish takes that long to dry. The color is faint and requires many layers for the color to actually be seen instead of the sheer coverage that two coats provides.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Prima Cosima from Satiny Color Thats Perfect For Most Initially I thought the color was a bit light for my skin tone but overtime I've come to like it. Its soft enough to almost look natural but glossy enough to catch the eye. The formula is interesting to work with. It may take me some time to really work out how to use it best. I'd recommend this for anyone who loves soft nail colors or if you're looking for an understated semi-neutral look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kisa17 from Favorite for pedicures and French manicures I bought this shade because I heard a lot of people raving about it, but I didn't expect to live this color as much as I do. It's prefect to do the tips on my French manicures, and it's my perfect pedicure polish. My toe nails have been living in this color for months, every time I go to paint my toes I say I'm going to use a different color, but I cave and put on Ballet Slippers. This polish has got me loving the way my feet look, and I take better care of my feet now. Ballets Slippers holds a special place in my heart now.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Rano from Great colour but very thin This is a colour that I actually didn't like at first but I grew to like it the more I wore it. The main issue is that it is such a thin formula that you must put at least 3 layers to make it look solid without any streaks. For someone like me who usually paints 2 layers and is always on the go, it wasn't the best product. It also takes long to dry. Overall great colour but would not buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Istitch68 from Very feminine and delicate I wasn't sure of this at first because of reading other reviews about the number of coats. I stop at two and I think it has great coverage on my nails. I have already had a couple worker comment on the color wanting to know the brand. Definitely will be buying again. It is very soft and very delicate.

Rated 2 out of 5 by lalec from Beautiful colour, awful formula I want to love this product so badly because I absolutely adore the colour. However, I agree with the reviewer who said this is a very difficult formula to work with. I know the colour is sheer, but it is incredibly thick and goopy and I find it quite challenging to apply. This is the only Essie product I have had this experience with, so I will simply try another similar shade!
