Not for everyoneI had the curl smoothie for this product and decided to try out the shampoo, also because it was recommended by a blogger. For some reason my hair/scalp severely disliked this shampoo. My hair experienced a lot of breakage the first wash. I do not believe I have a typically "sensitive scalp" as I've tried a variety of products in the past. This product was free of sulphate, parabens and other things so I assumed it would be good for my hair. I have sizeable breakage patch now, so my advice would be to avoid this particular shampoo if you have not tried it yourself; if you may potentially have a sensitive scalp; or if your hair easily breaks.

Formula changed, no longer gentle cleanserI have returned 3 Curl and Shine shampoos in a matter of a week; I have purchased this shampoo for over 6 years, and the formula has certainly changed-especially with the coconut fruit juice added. It is now a harsh cleanser, and no longer a gentle cleanser for my fine and fragile hair. Two of the bottles returned had an unpleasant sulfur smell, and the other had a typical floral scent. The new formula left my hair feeling chemically processed (i.e., straightened) thin, and unbalanced. I am tremendously sadden because I can no longer purchase the shampoo, which was the only one that gently cleansed my hair.

The smell is to die for and it does good work tooI absolutely love this product. I wandered into the ethic section of a store and saw this brand and was intrigued by the ingredients (this was years ago, mind you). I had just recently undergone the big chop and was rocking a TWA and I bought several brands. For shampoo and conditioner this is by far the best that I've encountered. It smells great, the price is reasonable and it is way too easy to find. I love that i can buy directly from this site too instead of having to give my money to a third party (ie Target, Wallgreens, CVS etc.). This has become my go-to shampoo since it feels like it gives the best clean with the least amount of damage.

My commentaryI see People complaining about not having enough foam in this shampoo. If you want foam/suds Maybe you should use a sulphate shampoo. I have never seen a shampoo that was natural and "foamy" the foam is what dries out your hair because of sodium laureate sulphate. For all of you who claim to want a natural product but still want suds you clearly don't know what causes those suds. I apologize for my rant but it's a pet peeve when I see people very uninformed. The shampoo worked fine. I have no complaints

My Favorite ShampooI love this shampoo so much. I am part Chinese and have hair that is very thick but also very straight, and I never thought I'd be able to achieve the "beachy wave" look, but this shampoo makes my hair wavy! It's like magic! I also get headaches when I use products with strong fragrances, but the essential oil blend in this shampoo is subtle and sweet, and I love that it is cruelty-free and fair trade, too. Thank you, Shea Moisture!

Favorite!I have 2c/3a curls and I love this line! It is perfet for moisturizing without weighing down your curls. The shampoo is great as it is light and rinses well.

It was great but something happenedI loved all products of Shea moisture i have tried so many of them and my hair was amazing after each product. But after maybe one year something happened with this shampoo and my scalp got very itchy and I got dandruff (which I never had in my life ) and plus it's started to get dirty very fast ( usually I can wash my hair once in 2-4 weeks ) I changed it to a African black soap and then to a mangongo and hemp shampoos but it's didn't help . It works good for my 8 years old daughter but not for me anymore and I'm so upset because I finally got so happy with this products

Hair lossI noticed a sizable hair loss when i first washed my hair with this product. I didn't think much bc i'm always using Shea Moisture Products. I put my hair in braids like i normally do and wore my protective style. When I washed my hair a week and a half later (today), I want to cry bc of the clumps of hair that are falling out of my scalp. Every time i run my finger through my hair I get more and more hair coming out. It wont stop. I have a hard head and I treat my hair good. This product has been the only change. I love Shea moisture but after this, i might have to stop using all products from them
